Where can i find out what percentage of troops have seen action in Iraq?

Question: Cna someone point me in the right direction? actually, no for the second answerer. I'm joining the Navy as a nuke; I doubt I'll get sent to Iraq (but who knows.) This is for a rebuttal for someone saying something to the effect that almost all troops see action, and most die (second is easily refutable, but not the first)

Answer: Depends on what you mean. If you mean the percentage deployed to Iraq, that infor is below. If you mean the percentage of troops that once deployed, actually saw combat action, you could probally find that information, by seeing how many combat infantrymans badges, combat action badges, combat action ribbons , etc have been awarded by each service. And then compare that to the number of people deployed to iraq. Active Duty Force: Air Force 334,200 Marines 180,000 Army 507,082 Navy 342,000 Forces who have never deployed: Total: 632,000 46% Air Force 177,000 53% Navy 171,000 50% Marine 97,000 54% Army 187,000 37% Forces with one deployment: 329,000 24% Army 169,000 33% Marines 7,000 4% Navy 86,000 25% Air Force 67,000 20% Forces with atleast two deployments: 390,000 28% Army 150,000 29% Navy 85,000 25% Marines 65,000 36% Air force 90,000 27%
