Answer: the HiHy is not an efficiency hybrid, it's a power hybrid. sure, the emissions are much lower, but the mpg is not much higher. the horsepower, however, is definitely higher. this was their way of playing with the hybrid system to see what kind of power they could pull out of it, as a result they haven't sold too well. you would get mid to upper 20s for mpg in this vehicle. due to the lack of popularity, you can probably get one for below MSRP... if you're looking for a good hybrid, look at the efficiency hybrids (anything but the accord hybrid, RX400h, GS450h, or highlander hybrid)
