What is the best way to cut wood which has many nails?

Question: I need to cut old roofing timbers into fire wood, chainsaw is out of the question. Handsaw is a little slow. I can't pull the nails out of the wood as it is oak and many have broken off.

Answer: Depends on how thick the wood is, but if it's in the 2"x6", etc., thickness range, there are blades made especially for nail-embedded wood that you can buy for a 7 1/4" circular saw. There are also blades made for a reciprocating (SawzAll-type) saw made especially for nail-embedded wood, too...one is called "The Axe" If you have a lot of wood to cut, buy a pack of them, 'cuz "nothing lasts forever."
